Neutral Kitchens

Pinterest has evoked a new love for us lately, and that’s light and bright kitchens. It’s amazing how much larger and cleaner a space can feel with neutral colored walls.

My current apartment’s kitchen isn’t terribly small, but up until recently, the wall color in there was definitely terrible. The sad dirty yellow had been on those walls for at least ten years, and now that I’ve lived here for two, I was beyond over it. After extensive research, I decided on a “greige“… a blend of a little grey and a little beige. It made an enormous difference, the space feels bigger, brighter, and now I actually want to spend time in there!

The best part about neutral kitchens are that they can come in a variety of colors. You can opt for a bright white to make the light bounce all around, a sophisticated grey, or a nice latte color to warm things up a bit. If you want to get a little more colorful and spunky with it, muted colors work really well also. Think mint or pale pink.
