I know it’s only Monday, but with 4th of July the following Monday, we’re thinking it’s ok to post a cocktail 🙂
Watermelon is a 4th of July staple – so we thought incorporating it into a cocktail would be a fun way to shake it up. While this drink is refreshing and tasty on it’s own, we thought we’d incorporate the insanely good Cucumber Liqueur from Hartford Flavor Company. As you already know, we love them! You can check back on our cocktails for their Birch & Rose liqueurs.
To make 6 small cocktails:
Half of a watermelon
Half of a cucumber (peeled)
1 cup of water
Juice of 2 limes
3 shots of Hartford Flavor Company’s Wild Moon Cucumber liqueur
*Quick note, I grabbed what I thought was a traditional dragonfruit but apparently came home with a purple dragonfruit! The color was insanely rich and velvety looking. I was a little bummed at first, because I love that contrast of the white and black dotted flesh of a traditional dragonfruit, but the purple ended up being absolutely gorgeous!
Blend watermelon, cucumber, lime juice and 1 cup of water in a blender or food processor. Once blended to your liking, you will need to strain. The juice should be free of chunks and odd textured bits at this point. Refrigerate for about 1 hour, and serve with garnishes.
