Well, today is an interesting day, indeed. A lot is happening for this country of ours, and we are certainly curious to see how these next few years pan out. But without thinking too much into it, let’s focus on the present, embrace today, and pat yourselves on the backs for hustling through another work week.

Have a lovely weekend, all 🙂

Sparkling Elderflower Frosé

gm_Frose_1

And we’re back!! We’re happy to be here, but we’re sad to not be waking up to the sound of waves and watching sunsets like these (below) every night, womp womp. We are excited to share our first post in collaboration with Our Niche Spirits, who were kind of enough to send us some alcohol to play with 🙂

We’re starting off with a cocktail that killed it with the ladies this weekend – frosé.

gm_BeachHaus_2016_1gm_Frose_2

Our tasty cocktail used Schlumberger Sparkling Rosé as a base, along with a bit of Elderflower Lemonade to add a little sweetness and flavor (which we added before we froze). We then topped off the slushy cocktail with more of the Schlumberger Sparkling Rosé to make sure we felt some of the bubbles!

Making the drink is pretty easy, you just need to take your time freezing. We chose to use the Chef John method of freezing (pour your rosé + elderflower lemonade into a shallow dish and freeze, taking it out every so often to stir with a fork, creating the texturized pieces) but you can also do it this way.

Easy, right?! Serve up in your cutest glasses and top with more sparkling wine, and fruity garnish of your choosing!

Special thanks to Our Niche for the tasty Schlumberger Sparkling Rosé & to Treasures Old Lyme for the complimentary glasses.

Guys, did that week fly or what?! We were just talking to a friend about how it’s always Monday or Friday, and this week truly felt that way, ha. Any fun plans for the weekend? Christa is popping over to Providence, RI on Sunday to visit with an old family friend, and Reg is planning to catch up with some friends who she hasn’t seen in quite a while. What do you have goin’ on? Hope it’s a good one!

Spring Meal Inspiration

How is it that our weekends are filling up so fast?? Spring has sprung, and we’re finding ourselves attending brunches, dinners and all sorts of food related events (not complaining!) It’s been inspiring us to throw our own little gathering, and we’re smitten with these lovely dishes (and drinks, of course!)

We’ve collected some springy-faves from around the web that make our mouth water. *Take note these are not intended to be served all together… that would be some of the most random flavor complexity you could ever go for. This is mainly to get a sense of what’s out there, and how to keep your palette interested this season!

Hello loves, we hope your Good Friday is off to a good start! Any fun plans for Easter? I’m off to New Hampshire & Reg is hanging with her ladies. My cousin Rachel pinned these eggs and we’re obsessed with them! I think we’ll be giving them a try this weekend 🙂 Are there any other awesome Easter DIYs you guys are planning on getting into? We’re still in love with our post from last year! Enjoy the holiday and have a wonderful weekend! xo

Ultimate Galentine’s Day Brunch

#Weliterallycannoteven handle how stoked we are for Galentine’s Day. It’s that oh-so-special time of year where we get to hug our lady friends, dance around the room to the Backstreet Boys, braid each other’s hair, and pillow fight. Because those are things that girls actually do, right? Maybe (probably not). BUT we likely will be gossiping about our dating lives while having tasty pink cocktails.

The internet is exploding with ideas for your gal-pal party, and we couldn’t help but share the best of it with you:

Happy Friday, loves — how’d you guys hold up this week? The week after Thanksgiving can sometimes feel extra long, but this year it didn’t seem too bad. This year we’re trying to be a little more conscious of our holiday habits — actively trying to keep our nutrition and exercise in check, and budgeting ourselves so we don’t overspend. It can be a challenge at times, but it seems to be helping, because we’re feeling good! Are you guys doing anything differently this year to feel a little more balanced? Hope you guys have a great weekend — see you on Monday!

Happy Friday!

cheesecake5-1-of-1blogsize copyOh sweet, sweet Friday. The only thing that could make you any sweeter would be the this featured orange-chocolate cheesecake by The Vanilla Bean Blog. Happy Valentine’s Day weekend, friends! Hope you’re all staying toasty out there with the ones you love! What’re your plans for the weekend? Ours will likely involve a whole lotta flannel, because it is freezing out there! We may both attempt to go sledding, depending on the weather, because there is ANOTHER potential blizzard heading our way… I just don’t even know what to say any more.

Have a fantastic weekend! PS I want that thumb ring.
