NYE Outfits

What are your NYE plans? We might be spending it together this year (which hasn’t happened in years!), with a delicious dinner out and then drinks with friends. Sounds pretty great to me! The other *awesome* option was to snuggle up with a cozy cocktail and watch a ton of movies. No matter what you’re up to – have a blast! Here are a couple outfit options for wherever your night might bring you…

Happy Weekend!

Hello, and Happy Friday! This week seemed to do a number on us both, are you guys in the same boat? We’re pretty excited to curl up this weekend and do a whole lot of nothing, shamelessly. Walking to get coffee counts as cardio… right? Right.

cct // I just snagged a really awesome spindle bed on Craigslist with the intention of painting it, but the light finished wood is pretty nice – still debating what to do…

rkv // My coworker recently introduced me to the pretty wonderful pinterest board “My Imaginary Well-Dressed Toddler Daughter,” and I love it tenderly.

cct // Speaking of beds and bedrooms, this great Apartment Therapy article 10 Steps to a Better Bedroom sparked the desire to check Craigslist

rkv // 10 creative grilled cheeses to make your heart skip a beat

cct // I visited my brother at college last weekend and came back with an awesome Taylor Swift remix. I forgot what it’s like to listen to remixes at house parties of people you don’t know, and it was great

rkv // Since we’re on the T-swift note, this 80s aerobics/”Shake It Off” video is sheer joy.

cct // Aerie is my favorite for bras and underwear and I’m happy to hear their anti-photoshopping campaign worked for them!

rkv // It’s sad that it really never occurred to me that Banksy could be a woman.

Memorial Day Outfits

With Memorial Day right around the corner we’re getting excited about a nice day off in the sun (fingers crossed for a nice sunny day!). When you’re a kid you spend Memorial Day watching a parade gathering candy (or walking in it, ugh), but when you’re old enough to drink, all you can think about is who is having the BBQ. While we’re mostly still in category 2, there are many options for your upcoming time off – including being active, hitting the beach, or laying low and meeting friends out later.

Here are some outfit options for your day time activity, and day or night casual! Enjoy your day off, but don’t forget what the holiday is here for – remembering those who served for our beautiful country!

Daytime Hang: Memorial Day weekend is when you get a first glimpse of summer! Whether it’s checking out the local parade or heading to a friends for some burgers & dogs – all you want to do is be outside! A light flowy shirt is perfect for the humid New England warmth and a large tote will store a sweater for the chilly evenings. It may not be summer yet, but go with it – everyone else is!

Active Day: Confession – Reg shops the men’s section at H&M for workout tops. They just fit so well, and let’s be real, no one knows they’re for dudes. Throw a pretty sports bra underneath and it looks really cute. This outfit isn’t intended for an all day sweat-a-thon, but it’ll keep you comfortable while doing things like riding bikes, trail hikes, etc. Bright casual sneakers, trendy sweats, a headband for your pesky bangs, and a backpack for a water bottle/camera/snacks is an easy and fresh look for a fun Memorial Day.

Tank // Sweats // Sports Bra // Sneaks // Backpack // Headband

Night Out: If you’re using your day off to catch up on sleep or laundry, don’t worry, your Memorial Day is not shot! Meet up with some friends (if they’re not too sleepy from day drinking), and have one last night out before work! Since it’s still a tad chilly in the evenings, this top covers you up but gives you the freedom you want for an “almost summer” blouse. Top it off with a cute wristlet, eye catching jewelry and some fun chunky sandals. You know the weather is getting better when you can show those toesies!

Silk Top // Necklace // Jeans // Bracelet // Wristlet (*on sale!) // Chunky Heeled Sandals
