Backpacks have come a long way since the middle school days when we lugged around 30 lbs of textbooks in camo-printed monogrammed monstrosities. These days they’re sleek, elegant, and simply put, we want one…
We’re finding ourselves pretty stoked on this warmer weather, and in dire need of some pedis after a long winter. Time to bust out those toesies with some fun new looks from some of our favorite places!

Yayyyy it’s crazy cropped high-waisted patterned pant season! Get wild, ladies. Bust out those ankles and make those weird trousers that you’ve always loved work. The above look is great because it combines the comfort of a flouncy chambray with the a little bit of edge through the funky pants and height in the shoes. The trees are blooming, and so is our love of a swanky pants.
While visiting Reg in Boston this past weekend we popped over to The Booksmith in Brookline to kill some time before a most delicious brunch at Zaftigs. I stumbled upon the arts area and got a great deal on this gorgeous design book in the used books section (I got the mint green paged version).
I actually didn’t know it’s official title until looking it up on Amazon (Palette: 05: Pastel – New Light-Toned Graphics), and it doesn’t matter because it’s a fantastic book filled with delightful pastel design projects. It couldn’t be more fitting with Spring on it’s way! I flipped through the pages all evening, and it has got us scouring Pinterest for more pastel loveliness.
Good morning! How was everyone’s weekend? Hope it was both relaxing and exciting all at once. It’s finally sort of starting to feel like spring around here (and by that, I mean that we can wear flats and rolled up jeans without our ankles shivering), so we’re feeling inspired and light. We feel like cleaning, painting, cooking, & exercising all at once. While of course that’s probably over-ambitions and we’re likely to only get one of those tasks done if we’re lucky, it’s nice to dream! Here are some of our favorite pretty pins keeping us inspired this week:
We’ve been feeling awfully cooped up these days, and in ultra hibernation mode. While sitting on the couch with fuzzy socks and binge watching Nashville is all well and good, it can easily lead to feeling a little frumpy. Sometimes we gotta just force ourselves out of the house and onto the town. What’s a good way to push you into that? An edgy new beauty look.
Burgundy lips can be surprisingly versatile as far as style goes. Throw the color on with your leather (or faux) jacket and metallic earrings for a rocker look, a deep side part and waves for your inner 40s vixen, or try out a boho-etherial vibe with some braids or a felt hat. For you ladies with those big pouts out there, please do us a favor and give this velvety look a shot, so we can live vicariously through your show-stopping ways. This lip color positively screams dinner & drinks with the girls.
Before we start gift guides (eek!), we’ll finish up November with a lovely Etsy Round Up, focusing on rich browns, bright metallics and natural elements – aka the best combo!
Happy (and safe!!) travels today on this crazy snowy day, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! xo G&M
I’m always drawn to great styling photographs, so beautiful!
These adorable metallic leather tassels keychains are perfect for gifts!
I had no ideaI had one of these photographers photos as my phone backdrop for years – so happy to find them on Etsy!
We grew up in a time when wall paper was terrible… dated floral and patterned ceiling boarders, but times have changed. We are seeing wall paper being used in all sorts of stylish new ways with exciting new imagery. Check out some of our favorites these days…
In the bathroom –
We’re pretty much braid people year-round, but something about the end of summer/yearning for fall amplifies our love of braids. Reg knows her way around a crown braid, and one of these days we’ll do a tutorial, but today we’ll just admire other people’s hair genius.
