Festival Fashion // Round 2

We still have festival fever over here in the North East, dreaming of being able to roam freely between music tents with lemonade in hand and not a care in the world. Feeling inspired from yesterday’s looks, we decided to pick up on some of the major trends we’ve been seeing and piece some outfits together that we hope to soon be wearing.

Tribal Pants // Tribal pants are going to be everywhere at a festival, and for good reason. They’re fun, they’re playful and most importantly, they’re super comfy. We love this flattering wide leg with a slimming fitted tube top. Have some fun by mixing up the print with what else?…how about more print! These leopard sandals mis-match perfectly.

Playful Romper // Rompers are great because they have the ease of dress, but since they’re shorts, you won’t be worried about them flying around in the wind. This oversize floral pattern is eye catching, and festive. Pair it with some bold metallic jewelry, chunky sandals, and pinstripe backpack to really stand out.

Crop Top // Crop tops are a little intimidating when you first see them on the hanger, and with good reason. Anyone who can pull them off with a low-rise bottom is basically a barbie-doll and should be studied in a laboratory. For us average people, these tops actually work very well with a high-wasted flowy skirt, to show just a little skin on the upper rib cage. Keep the outfit light and bright (and the sun out of your eyes) with a wide-brimmed hat, simple sandals, and a statement satchel.

There’s been a major trend lately of playing around with proportions and we’re loving it. This look nods to the 70s through the wide leg jean (a super flattering fit for any ladies with hips like us!), but keeps it modern with a structured crop top sweatshirt. Jeans like this are intended to elongate the length of your leg, so instead of getting them hemmed if they’re running a little long on you, try propping yourself up with some heeled booties. We made this look our own through some accessories: an ivory perforated belt, some faded gold jewelry, and a pop of color with a mustard bag. This look is funky yet streamlined, perfect for a little spice in your day-to-day look.
