While we don’t usually get political here on the blog, my highly anticipated “Babes for Bernie” sweatshirt came in late this week and I was super excited about it! I had stumbled upon Print Liberation awhile back and had been waiting to buy something good, and when I saw this sweatshirt I knew it was time. It’s cozy, cute & let’s people know where I’m at this election season. If you’re not a Bernie fan, you can grab a Hillary top, or if you’re not into politics, feel tree to grab one of my favorite shirts – more pizza & more whiskey 🙂
We’re finding ourselves pretty stoked on this warmer weather, and in dire need of some pedis after a long winter. Time to bust out those toesies with some fun new looks from some of our favorite places!
What are your NYE plans? We might be spending it together this year (which hasn’t happened in years!), with a delicious dinner out and then drinks with friends. Sounds pretty great to me! The other *awesome* option was to snuggle up with a cozy cocktail and watch a ton of movies. No matter what you’re up to – have a blast! Here are a couple outfit options for wherever your night might bring you…
Drinks // There’s something about heading out to the bar later than usual that’s fun and exciting! Grab a cute dress, some bling and a cozy coat and be on your way to toast in the new year! Dress //Earrings//Coat//Knee High Boots // Fringe Purse
The Easter holiday means a lot of different things to lots of different people. It can be going to church, having a big dinner, hanging out playing games – you name it. This is why we’ve put together 2 completely different outfits for 2 completely different scenarios. These pieces are not only springy, but also easy to mix with each other or with items you already own. Now you can look fresh for the holiday with items that will last!
This spring we plan to sport this classic feminine take on mens footwear – the oxford. Since going barefoot with this type of structured shoe may not always be the most comfortable to break in, we’ve style them with some statement socks for practicality. These looks will look great with some skinny jeans, skirts, or dresses. Rock them in the office to be business casual, or on the weekend for a walk around town once the weather finally warms up!
Happy Monday everyone! NYE is right around the corner, and after our outfit guide last week, it was fun picking out something sassy to wear! Of course my plans have now changed and this sparkly number will be far too formal, so I’m going to be wearing something more along the lines of our house party pick. This outfit embodies our love of mixing casual and glam with a little vintage. The ampersand earrings were a Christmas prezzie from Reg, and as a designer they are perfect for me – I love them! We also want to give a little shout out to our families for getting us both new DSLRs for Christmas (camera twins)! This was our first shoot with the amazing Canon Rebel T3i and we’re so excited to see what else we can do with them! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
Hey everyone, Christa here – these are my first outfit pics ever, so be gentle! I was very excited to shoot these because getting dressed up for parties is one of my favorite things to do! There has been an annual Christmas potluck with friends going on since the early college days, and we’ve managed to keep it going after all of these years. It’s fun and delicious, and the only other “rule” besides bringing a top notch dish is formal attire. This doesn’t mean black tie, since we’re lounging around someone’s apartment, but it’s definitely more than your usual friend potluck dinner outfit. I wore this to the party on Saturday night and felt dressed up yet comfortable with my metallic sweater, a little bling, comfy knit dress (shown as a skirt) & booties.
December is the month of holiday parties. Weekend after weekend there is something going on (not that we’re complaining)! With a mix of cocktail parties, work parties, pot lucks and everything in between we found 2 outfits that will cover them all.
This casual look is sophisticated but still fun – perfect for a work gathering or potluck. The silk top pairs well with pretty much anything, so it’s worth the investment, and the color is perfect for fall and winter. The bright cords will make this outfit more playful, and flats keep it casual and easy to get around. Side note: I own these flats and they might be the most complimented item of footwear I own. And they’re comfy too! Anyway, since this outfit is very simple, play up the clutch and/or jewelery. We went with arm candy, but it could easily handle a chunky necklace instead.
The glam look uses this dress as the centerpiece. This is definitely more for the cocktail party or fancy dinner, but it’s still work appropriate and you’ll feel very classy in it. We’ve targeted this look more towards the icy blues and greys that are popular at the moment, but it could easily be toned down with more navy to go for something more monochromatic. And again since this dress speaks for itself, we kept it pretty bare with the jewelry, but if you skipped the belt you could add a really blingy necklace.
My family celebrates Thanksgiving in a very old, very cold house. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining (I love it), but when it comes to outfits, I can’t go all out. I have learned how to dress cute and cozy, but when I see all of the posts and pictures of the holiday glam look, I get a little jealous. So today I present to you 2 outfits, my practical casual look and my wishful thinking glam look. I might have to steal that glam look for Christmas or a holiday party…
My casual look is a jumble of textures, and that’s why I love it! The cozy sweater and half leather leggings will allow for over eating (my fav) while the hat and boots will make you feel like you’re not in your pjs when you get some fresh air and walk off a bit of food. And when you’re back, lounge around in those super chunky socks- no need for slippers!
My glam look makes me shiver thinking about wearing tights where I’m going, but nonetheless, I would love to wear it to a restaurant or modern (normal) house. The sparkle on top and bottom bring attention, but are still classy and family appropriate. The skirt- also stretchy and overeating ready- allow for a dressed up feel, while the opaque tights feel more like leggings so you don’t freeze in this chilly New England cold!
