Hello first Fall Friday 🙂 We welcome you with wide open arms. This weekend is looking like it’ll be just the right amount of crispiness in the air and we are mega amped. We also get to have a little galpal time, with us both hanging out on the Hartford scene for some catching up, dining out, and a photo shoot with our collab team over at CT Eats Out. Can’t wait!

See ya all Monday!

Today and tomorrow are 2 very specials days…today is National Donut Day, and tomorrow is Reg’s birthday! We get to spend the weekend together with our guys, good roomies and delicious food – aka the perfect birthday. We’re hoping to pop over to Harpoon for a brewery tour on Sat, have a fancy-pants seafood dinner that night, and enjoy another tasty brunch on Sunday morning. Cheers to that!

Spring 2015 Nail Colors

GM_SpringNails_2015

Happy Marathon Monday, Boston friends! It might be a little dreary today, but we’re dreaming of bright and springy manis. Whether you’re picking a color at the salon, or doing your nails at home, it’s time to trade out those winter colors for something more fun! Spring nail colors can range anywhere from pastels and neutrals to shimmery and saturated colors, whichever you choose – just make sure they make you excited for sunnier weather!

Headband-Tuck Tutorial

gm_Headband_8

If you ladies are anything like the two of us, sometimes you get a little lazy with your tresses, so we’re all about finding some quick and simple ways to throw it all up and get out the door faster. All you’ll need for this is a headband and a few bobby pins. This trick works really well for unwashed hair, so don’t be shy with the dry shampoo. Reg is a big fan of Dove, while Christa opts for Baptist for her dark hair, both should be available at the drugstore or Ulta.

Check out below for a step-by-step:

gm_Headband_2

// 01. If your hair is a little dirty, spray some dry shampoo and give it a good shake/rub down. Then position your hair in front of your shoulders.

// 02. Place your headband on top of the hair, so the base of the band is along the nape of your neck, with the hair underneath it (sort of like a crown).

gm_Headband_3

// 03. Pull your hair to one side, gently creating one large twist over your shoulder.

gm_Headband_4

// 04. Wrap your twisted hair around the base of the headband, as many times as it takes for the hair to be completely wrapped (mine took about three times). It’s okay if this looks a little messy, embrace it!

// 05. Taking your bobbies, tuck the crazies into your bun to hide the headband. Don’t worry about it being perfect and feel free to let some loose pieces hang.

gm_Headband_6.5

// 06. All done! Just position your front pieces as you like. If you have a little time and want to take the look up a knotch, heat up a curling iron to give your whispies a quick wrap about the barrel.

Summer Nail Color Crushes

GM_SummerNails

Now that we’re finally getting a little glow to our skin, we aren’t quite as shy to show off some loud colors. Summer is our favorite time to flaunt those brights we’ve been eyeing, so show your hands some love and get playful with your color choices!

Love Want Need // Clog Sandals & Bright Toes

lovewantneed_clogs&toes

We’ve become big fans of the clog trend round these parts. A coworker and I were joking the other day about how when we first saw this style around, we couldn’t help but think “orthopedic.” However, in the last couple of months retailers have done a really great job with making this style more trendy and “70s/European,” and less “granny gone wild.” To keep this style fresh, funky, and modern, pair it with a contrasting bright toe polish. This duo would look adorbz with some skinny ankle jeans or a knee-length A-line.

Casual vs Glam // Easter Sunday

gm_EasterOutfit

The Easter holiday means a lot of different things to lots of different people. It can be going to church, having a big dinner, hanging out playing games – you name it. This is why we’ve put together 2 completely different outfits for 2 completely different scenarios. These pieces are not only springy, but also easy to mix with each other or with items you already own. Now you can look fresh for the holiday with items that will last!

Glam : Blouse // Crossbody // Slouchy Pants // Lace Wedges // Dainty Bracelet

Nail Color Crushes

If there’s one thing that makes us feel clean and pretty, it’s a fresh mani. A new season means jazzy new color choices, and this spring we’re crushing hard for soft neutrals, metallics, bold blues, and pretty pinks. And while we’d love to get weekly manicures, our rational side usually wins out and we do them at home. To make sure your nails look like they were done by the pros, be sure to check out The Every Girl’s easy how-to for an at home step-by-step from our previous Happy Weekend post!

Casual vs Glam // Valentine’s Day

gm_ValentinesOutfit_CasualGlam

Valentine’s Day can cover so many different scenarios…dating someone, sort of dating someone, not dating someone…but don’t let any of those stop you from dressing cute for whatever your situation. Whether it’s a date night, a night at home, drinks with girl friends, or a date with your couch, Valentine’s Day/Night is only as good as you make it! We’ve sort of stopped giving into the idea of what you’re “supposed” to do or wear on this holiday, and have embraced the idea of feeling comfortable and confident while you celebrate the love in your life (even if that love is yourself!).

Christmas Party Sparkle

Hey everyone, Christa here – these are my first outfit pics ever, so be gentle! I was very excited to shoot these because getting dressed up for parties is one of my favorite things to do! There has been an annual Christmas potluck with friends going on since the early college days, and we’ve managed to keep it going after all of these years. It’s fun and delicious, and the only other “rule” besides bringing a top notch dish is formal attire. This doesn’t mean black tie, since we’re lounging around someone’s apartment, but it’s definitely more than your usual friend potluck dinner outfit. I wore this to the party on Saturday night and felt dressed up yet comfortable with my metallic sweater, a little bling, comfy knit dress (shown as a skirt) & booties.
