Happy last day of November, lovelies! We’ll be festive & holiday themed in no time (…as in tomorrow…). But before we jump into gift guides and all things peppermint, we’re still loving ourselves some fall metallics, and thought we’d do a fun & easy nail tutorial! What we’re really digging about this is the subtle nude look, making it really versatile for any outfit color palette.
Follow instructions below!
Nude or soft pink base — we used Essie’s Eternal Optimist
Metallic accent color with a subtle contrast — we used Penny Talk
Clear topcoat — we cannot recommend Seche Vite enough!
Wax paper or a plate
01. Pour a small amount of your metallic color onto your wax paper or plate and set aside
02. Paint 2 coats of your base color and allow to fully dry
03. Once your base coat dries, use your toothpick to dip into the metallic paint
04. Gently dot 3 points onto your nails in a straight line
05. Once dried, apply your top coat, pop on the Netflix and allow to fully dry
Today and tomorrow are 2 very specials days…today is National Donut Day, and tomorrow is Reg’s birthday! We get to spend the weekend together with our guys, good roomies and delicious food – aka the perfect birthday. We’re hoping to pop over to Harpoon for a brewery tour on Sat, have a fancy-pants seafood dinner that night, and enjoy another tasty brunch on Sunday morning. Cheers to that!
cct // I’m attending 2 weddings in 1 day this summer (!!) and have been searching for a dress. I’ve been debating Rent The Runway, have any of you guys used it before?? I have my eye on this dress and this dress!
rkv // I’ve had a handful of life changes going on recently, and have been feeling like my brain just can’t calm down because of it. I mentioned it to Christa and she sent me this helpful little article.
PS. Did you guys get a chance to hear our interview on The Dinner Special podcast?? Learn all about how we met, our favorite places to grab a bite in our two cities, and what our last meal would be (hint — it’s covered in cheese and sauce)!
Is it really Friday already? Not that we’re complaining, but man did this week fly by. Busy bees I guess! I moved into my new place, and Reg is getting into moving mode herself. This weekend is Cinco De Mayo weekend AND the Kentucky Derby, are you attending any parties? Drink a delicious mint julep or margarita, on us!
Now that we’re finally getting a little glow to our skin, we aren’t quite as shy to show off some loud colors. Summer is our favorite time to flaunt those brights we’ve been eyeing, so show your hands some love and get playful with your color choices!
With the passing of Maya Angelou, so many amazing quotes of hers are surfacing. While we’d only known a few, seeing them all over the internet has brought so much inspiration and joy. This one really resonated with us and we hope it does with you as well!
Have a fantastic weekend (it’s going to be June, woah!), enjoy our links and see you back on Monday! xo G&M
cct // I’m still in total travel mode, and came across this monthly travel guide to Europe – which locations are best to go during which month! I think I just mentally added a few more trips to my list…
cct // I’m all about painting my nails at home (and infographics), so this image caught my eye. Become an at-home manicurist in no time!
rkv // It’s nearly time to bare those abs (sigh). This little tutorial will get them looking toight!
cct // I had one of those circular princess bed canopies when I was a kid and thought I was awesome. Cut to grown up canopies – because this thing is beautiful and a DIY!
rkv // Have you guys ever tried shakshuka? I had the delightful North African egg breakfast over the winter at a friend’s house and have been dying to make it ever since. This green recipe looks like it would be super tasty with some nice toasty ciabatta.
It’s finally Friday, yay! And it’s officially Spring! Things just seem brighter and warmer (by like 2 degrees…). Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the continuation of Spring weather for this weekend and soak it all in! Before you escape outside, enjoy our Friday links and have a fantastic weekend friends!
cct // I stumbled upon Afar Magazine’s Guide to Florence, and I am so glad I did! Wonderful reviews from people’s travels, and I’m getting unbelievably excited for our trip (only about a month away!)
