Happy Weekend

Dang, this week flew! We’re not complaining, but with lots of busy weekends for both of us, it seems like April came and went in a moment! Christa is headed to Boston on Friday night for a Father John Misty concert and then taking part as a model in the Trashion Fashion show in Hartford on Sat (eek, so nervous!), and Reg and her ladies are poppin’ up to Portland, Maine to explore and eat, eat, eat!

Any fun plans for your gorgeous weekend? xo

Wait a minute. Is that? Yes, yes it is. It’s the sun I see shining through the window. After a week of some seriously drab weather in New England, I’m so pleased to see Mr. Sun once again. Hopefully it holds through the weekend for all of us, and we can enjoy being in the great outdoors! Now in case you’re wondering, Christa sadly is not blogging these links from Italy, but instead prepped them ahead of time (like the true over-planner that she is – love you, boo!).

Hope you all have all have some glorious weekends ahead of you!

Strawberry Banana Ginger Smoothie

gm_smoothie3I’m a big fan of smoothies. They taste like you’re eating dessert, but feel like you’re doing good for your body. This guy is creamy, hearty, and fruity – a great combination for helping the winter blues. I adapted the recipe from the What Katie Ate cookbook which my sister gave me a couple of years back. If you haven’t looked it through before, it’s a must-see for food photographers. Her images are beautiful, and recipes delicious!

The recipe calls for:

– 7 or so fresh or frozen strawberries

– 1 banana

– 1/2 cup milk of your choice

– 7 ounces plain Greek yogurt

– 1/2 teaspoon of ground or grated ginger

– 1 tablespoon of honey or agave

– optional – a small handful of ice if you want it extra cold

Throw it all into a blender and chug-a-lug!
